The best platform depends on your cards and goals. TCGPlayer is ideal for individual high-value cards. eBay works well for auctions on rare items. Facebook groups and Reddit communities are good for direct sales with lower fees. Local card shops offer immediate cash but typically pay 40 to 60 percent of market value.

Scan your cards with Pokex to see TCGPlayer market prices. For selling, price competitively against current listings on your chosen platform. Cards in excellent condition should be priced near the TCGPlayer market price. Cards with condition issues should be priced at the corresponding condition tier.

Cards worth more than $5 to $10 individually are generally worth listing separately for maximum return. Lower-value cards sell better as lots grouped by set, type, or theme. Use Pokex to sort your collection by value and determine the cutoff for individual versus bulk listings.

For individual cards, place the card in a penny sleeve, then a top-loader, then tape the top-loader shut and place it in a rigid cardboard mailer or between two pieces of cardboard in a standard envelope. Mark the package as "Do Not Bend." For larger orders, use a small box with padding.

Card prices tend to peak around major releases when interest is high, during the holiday season when demand increases, and when nostalgia events like movie releases or anniversaries drive attention. Newly released chase cards often peak in the first week before supply catches up with demand.
